Louise- Noel was indeed a woman, and wrote adult as well as children's novels. "Saplings" is republished by Persephone Books in the UK. The Children of Primrose Lane I think was similar to the Famous Five novels- I remember it involving a daring rescue of a locked away child?Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536038271600515021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907149953224165300.post-55386211239848740462011-07-17T00:35:37.488+01:002011-07-17T00:35:37.488+01:00I have a treasured copy that has somehow survived ...I have a treasured copy that has somehow survived my childhood of Noel Streatfield's The Children of Primrose Lane, that I remember reading over and over again, but of course it's so long ago that I don't remember the story. I will reread it again one day, but am a bit scared that it won't live up to the childhood memory, or that it will fall apart. I had absolutely no idea that Noel Streatfield was a woman! I must never have googled her, despite knowing all about the You've Got Mail "shoe books" reference.Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13187730620736345378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7907149953224165300.post-53172876538416949302011-07-16T20:31:28.839+01:002011-07-16T20:31:28.839+01:00Dreamwalker's child is at the bottom of my TBR...Dreamwalker's child is at the bottom of my TBR pile but after reading your review I'm going to dig it out and put it at the top!Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05962552429792516213noreply@blogger.com
